This was one of the first shirt designs for Element that involved custom stitching and fabric application.

This was one of my favorite color palettes. As the seasons wore on, orange gave way to charcoal gray as the color of choice.

Again, early 2000’s hallmarks — simplicity, neutral tones, rounded edges. This design also got some mileage.

This design came from the period in my design career when I was obsessed with boxes and squares. El Lisitzky was my hero.

Matt picked such a lovely and flexible typeface for the new Element brand that it was a real pleasure working on these designs. The color palette was definitely very early 2000’s.

This was another one of the more successful shirt designs for Element. As you can see, 2002 marks the beginning of my love affair with orange.

One of my first clothing designs for Element. It was a real thrill seeing people wear it, and I do think it’s one of my better designs. Matt Irving who was creative director at Element was the one who redesigned the logo and branding elements.
